one
day ... continued
night
blackness is
the
sky in which stars
shine
deep
and rich
as a bitter chocolate
as
inspiring as
a
box of shells
formed of salt & water
fire & ice
the
shade of silence
sometimes
i think blackness is:
two baskets, spilling islands
seven islands, sinking
a necklace of tongues
words, unspoken
a drum, pounded
a feast, grown cold and rotten
one egg, broken
a hatchling, falling
a dream, forgotten
a nightmare, recurring
black
is everything
contracting
but
my love
my love is starlight
in a black universe
