the Dobson Straight
|
the young women
hung their long legs
over the tailgate
of the pick-up truck
they were bare-footed
and when they waved
the wind snagged at
their cotton dresses
so that they flapped
like excited flags
but before I could wave back
the truck had turned the bend
and begun the long bumpy stretch
down the Dobson Straight
