Mariana Isara

She got the polished coconut shell
I got the bone shards, strung
round my neck like sharks teeth.

    Small red pricks appeared
when I wore it – arcing my shoulder
    blades.

    I thought they were pulled
from Hammerheads.
    For years

    through the reef of night
sharks chased me
    asking for their teeth.
