In the shot by Pascal Sebah the summit
remains a secret chamber, the four young
men and women who are exercising
their right as Queen Victoria's subjects to
clamber upon the world's monuments
probably only a block above the
sand. But if just commencing they have
nonetheless paused for ever, gazing
at the summit of the tripod; worse
effrontery than tomb robbing the Tennis
Party Dynasty make the granite their
own resting place; a sphinx-like conundrum,
in the bandages of their era they
embark on a jaunt finished long ago.
